The Triumphs of the Tiny

We have been focused this month on God's great, cosmic plan. But let's take a moment today to appreciate the profound truth of God working through what is small and weak.

The entire Christmas story is a series of tiny, humble triumphs:

  • A tiny, overlooked village (Bethlehem).

  • A tiny, powerless family (Mary and Joseph).

  • A tiny, helpless infant (Jesus).

God chose the smallest package possible—a vulnerable baby—to deliver the greatest power the world has ever known. This is a recurring theme in God's kingdom.

Paul affirms this principle in 1 Corinthians 1:27 (KJV): "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty."

If you feel small, weak, or insignificant today, take heart! You are God's chosen vessel.

When the world sees your small resources, your limited influence, or your humble position, it dismisses you. But God sees a perfect opportunity to display His power. He doesn't need grand institutions or powerful personalities; He needs availability and humility.

The triumphant power of the Gospel did not begin with a king’s mighty declaration; it began with the soft cry of an infant who had to be laid in a feed trough.

My encouragement today is to stop comparing your weakness to the strength of others. Don’t wait until you feel "big enough" or "qualified enough" to serve the Lord. God delights in using the tiny things to accomplish massive, eternal triumphs. Give Him your weakness, your small moments, and your humble efforts, and watch how the Mighty God works through them.
